Domestic crimes against humanity are increasing across our society. The more developed and educated we are getting, the more criminal our behavior becomes against humanity and people around us. There are many reasons behind this common behavior in ladies. We must realize that such victims are already under too much psychological stress. Many of them are too indecisive and afraid to believe even their own selves. Addingly, there are also many other factors behind this weird and irrational decision of living with an abusive person.
Firstly it’s ‘fear’. Fear can be highly situational:
• Sometimes the culprit threatens to hurt the victim more if she tries to leave. He can threaten to hurt himself or their kids.
• The fear of being alone and not anle enough to raise the kids. most of such women lack proper qualifications to suffice for themselves and their family.
• In many love marriages, ladies bear all the torture just for the reason that they don’t want anyone who said ‘It won’t work out’ to be proven right
• At times other family members, neighbors and community members are not at her side, and the victim fears being rejected. In most undeveloped countries, women without husbands have no respectable place in society. Hence, the women are forced to live behind the bars of their domestic torture cell.
The second reason is the emotional aspect.
• In case of a medically unfit spouse, ladies think of it as their loyal duty” to stay with their sick or ill spouse no matter his constant abuses.
• Women also think that they can make their husbands get out of the psychological sickness they are in, therefore stay there in wait of apparent improvement.
• Most of violent husbands are not always on an abusive stance. They can also be very nice at times, thus making women forget all their bruises and wounds.
• Sometimes ladies don’t leave because they think that it is their own shortfalls, and lack of abilities to deserve the abuse.
• Sometimes women are not able to let go old romantic memories of their early after marriage days, therefore fail to leave a person who once used to be loving.
