Number Plates Spray
Ever since the introduction of Gatso speed cameras in the u.k. there have been products appearing to enable drivers to baffle or detect them. Radar detectors and GPS warning devices are some of the more effective options but also the most expensive. Sprays which claim to make the registration on the number plates unreadable to cameras while appearing normal to the human eye are cheap but untried as to test them you would have to risk a speeding fine which is the very thing you are trying to avoid. Now, though, the sprays have been rigorously tested in a controlled environment by the police themselves. Using a police patrol car and a genuine Gatso camera in everyday use they conducted an experiment using the spray as per the manufacturers instructions on the number plates of the car. When it was driven past the speed camera at a velocity which was over the speed limit in force the camera flashed twice as it normally would. When the pictures where developed they showed the police car clearly and the registration number was totally legible. The police force concerned have warned motorists that if they get one of these cans of spray blocker for Christmas to throw it away as it is useless.
